Chuak has over 30 years’ track record leading and growing multiple investment management businesses in traditional funds, hedge funds, insurance and principal investments.
He has established regional wide asset management businesses for global firms and successfully cofounded and seeded several leading hedge funds that have grown larger than USD1b in the Asia Pacific region.
Prior to joining Oreana Financial Services, Chuak launched Ascalon Capital in Hong Kong in 2011 to extend Westpac Banking Corporation’s hedge fund partnership and seeding business into Asia. Chuak was subsequently appointed to Chief Executive Officer where he led the business in Asia and Australia until its eventual sale to Oreana Financial Services.
Before Ascalon Capital, Chuak cofounded Segantii Capital as Partner and Chief Operating Officer, a leading Asian hedge fund, senior regional executive roles at ING Investment Management and, prior to that, Bankers Trust Funds Management in Australia and Singapore. Chuak has continuously served on Boards of investment management companies and funds across Asia Pacific as Executive or Non-Executive Director since 1999.
Chuak is a Hong Kong SFC Type 9 Responsible Officer for Ascalon Capital Limited, holds Masters and Bachelor Degrees in Business and is a CPA (Australia).
